Sammy Captivated by Amos Lee

I was listening to Amos Lee tonight on my headphones and Sammy came by for a listen. I put the headphones on him and he stood totally transfixed through about 2 1/2 songs. I think he must be a fan. ;) Considering the attention span of an 18 month old, I figured Sammy must have really liked the music. Can you blame him? I wonder what this says about his hearing? These are the songs he listened to: Colors, Bottom of the Barrel, and Dreaming. Oh yeah baby! Now that is soul! The heartbreaking part is I happened to pull up the Amos Lee website and saw that after what looks like 3 years of regular touring, he was actually playing in town here ... tonight!! Then tomorrow off to New Orleans and zero dates listed after that. RATS!! Had I know ahead of time, I would have gone for sure!!! Sigh. Okay, here's one more link. I love this! Keep it Loose, Keep it Tight. That is SO good! For some reason he reminds me of Willy Porter a little bit. Willy doesn't have the same raw soulful quality in his voice as Amos, but they both sound like pretty introspective dudes singing about emotions and lost love. These are Willy Porter clips: Paper Airplane. Watercolor. Cold Water. Maybe they're aren't that similar, just something familiar between the two.
