Queen Califa's Magical Circle was definitely a highlight. I saw a special about this sculpture garden on the HD Gallery channel and about fell over with excitement when I discovered it was about 15 minutes from where we were staying on this trip. Hidden in the bushes at Kit Carson park it seems to be vastly underpublicized and is an absolutely incredible place to visit. The colors, textures, creativity of the fanciful totems and materials used (mirrors, tile, stones like rose quartz, tigers eye, etc.) is visually delicious and a fun place for kids to run around, climb on and crawl through the gigantic sculptures. The link above has a bunch more photos and information about the artist Niki de Saint Phalle.

I'm definately going to have to take Hannah up there. I love the ones at Balboa Park, too.
